By Teboho Khoarane

On Wednesday 03 July 2024, King Lehasa II tabled and presented the process of turning Khoisan Ruins into Mafehleng Nature Reserve, which has been in the Municipal archives and files for years.

He further tabled the narrative and demonstrated  brief background about the Makgolokwe history including all clans who lived and continue to live around this areas. “There must be a cooperation between Traditional Cultural Leaders and the Council in order to pave a path for a brighter future for our people” said King Lehasa.

Our Clan history cannot be written by someone with less knowledge about us and not involve Kingdoms/Royal Houses. He further emphasized on illegal processes that the colonizers or white people followed, which he attempted to use but had to abandon it by following the legal procedure which is constitutionally recognised by South African Law.

Furthermore, he alluded that our Forefathers at Royal Graves have been tempered with and it’s fundamentally imperative that we preserve and protect this heritage, they have been vandalized and there is an urgent need to refurbish them for recognition and protection.

He unapologetically told the importance of working together and the need to know our untold rich history. The subject was driven by the need to partner with the Municipality and other key Stakeholders.

In conclusion in attendance along Kgosi Kgolo Lehasa II Moloi was HRM King Stuart Williams Kok from National Khoisan Kingdom (NKK) accompanied by his Chief Motsamai Isaac Stefane and Mr. Shadrack Mogapi (NKK), Motjholoko from Makgolokwe A Mafehleng and Chief Pule Sekonyela of Batlokoa.
