SAPS Fezile Dabi Holds Prayer With King Stuart Williams Kok

FEZILE DABE DISTRICT – On Thursday, 26 September 2024 Free State Province hosted a SAPS Prayer Day service at Sackbuts Secondary School in Zamdela (Fezile Dabi District). The service was attended by the Acting Provincial Commissioner Major General Lesia, The District Commissioner of Fezile Dabi Major General Makubo, The Executive Mayor of Fezile Dabi District Municipality Mr Khasudi, The Executive Mayor of Metsimaholo Cllr. Malindi, Abbaquar-San’s Free State King Stuart Williams Kok from National Khoi-SAN Kingdom with his wisdom, experience with community and members from various churches and stakeholders.

The program was led by an opening Prayer by Captain (Rev) Letsheleha and the welcoming  by Metsimaholo Exexcutive Mayor Cllr. Malindi.

Colonel (Rev) Mooketsi from Provincial Office said September Month is being observed as police safety month preceded by National Commemoration Day and that as the Provincial Office they saw it fit to conduct a Prayer Day at  Fezile Dabi District in honour of Constable Morake from Kroonstad and Warrant Officer Durant from Villiers.  He further encouraged members and the community at large to pray together for police safety. Members received messages of support from CPF, POPCRU, Men for Change and Women’s network.

Fezile Dabi District Commissioner Maj General Makubo after delivering the keynote address narrated a story of how the police are similar to a motor mechanic, who are often underestimated until they are desperately needed with exceptional service.

He further expressed the frustration that comes with the challenge of having community that we protect and serve turn against the police, and also reminded the community that the police are not their enemies but their guardians by law.

In conclusion Maj General Makubo made a pledge to root out rotten police officers one by one and encouraged community members to also report corruption. “May the almighty God bless and protect everyone.”
