On 18 May, 2025 The Provincial Secretary of the ANC In Free State Polediso Motsoeneng delivered Duma Nokwe lecture at Lesley Monnanyane Hall, in Bloemfontein.
He opened his lecture, by saying that the issue of holding unconstitutional ANC Branch general meetings will not continue to happen , as that results in the compromise of identifying quality members that can take the party forward.
“The public and the media has portrayed the ANC as the party that harbors illiterates, and that gives the public a negative narrative and perception about the leadership we entrust to take the party and government forward in terms of services e delivery, coming leadership from wards specifically Ward Councilors need to be independent thinkers that can take decisions guided by the ANC constitution to address challenges of communities on the ground.
We know that from the beginning of the inception of the of ANC in 1912, the party is known to have produced intelligent and educated members, that still need to continue and the embattled membership embroiled in factions have contributed significantly to overlooking the quality of leadership, even during the selection of leaders that are going to be suggested for the coming Local Government Elections”, said Motsoeneng.
He further emphasized that African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) have no excuse of being educated, they should lead by example by being academics that safeguard the interests of the ANC and the coming generation by demonstrating the importance of Education.
“We all have to feel safe that ANCYL will hold the country forth in terms of leadership, and that they can lead this country to a better state than it is today”, concluded Motsoeneng.
