‘Automated Traffic Contravention System is what Public Safety and Transport needs, Tsoleli’

On Monday 14 July, 2025 Mangaung Metro’s MMC for Public Safety and Transport Cllr. Sibongile Tsoleli explained the recent launch of a new Automated Traffic Contravention System on Motheo fm.

The system will assist the City to eradicate the old manual system, and to help the backlog of law enforcement, and it is meant to ensure effective system that helps the Municipality on the past loss of income due to unpaid traffic fines that costed the City up to R20 Million.

“The recent launch included Fire department that has a new drone system that detects danger around the City. It works effectively with technology installed to fast track emergencies”, said Tsoleli.

The MMC further said they are in discussions with the province for a partnership in terms of the main roads that connects Bloemfontein to other Provinces.
