At the invitation of the University of the Free State Vice-Chancellor Professor Hester Klopper, the Executive Mayor Cllr. Gregory Nthatisi honoured the meeting request joined by Members of the Mayoral Committee (MMC’s) and the City Manager Sello More with the Head of Departments (HOD’s) to tighten and sustain the existing memorandum of understanding (MOA) between University of the Free State and Mangaung Metro Municipality.
Among the discussions, there was greater emphasis and common approach on measures to resolve the urgent task on safety of students, solutions to attend the immediate student accommodation, challenges and sharing of knowledge on how build an active economic City and best practices to make it a centre of Excellence.
The Executive Mayor thanked the University on behalf of the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, for continuing to play a developmental role in the broader Community of the City and making the campus a Global place of choice for Higher Education.
