Mangaung Metro’s Disaster Management, Public Safety and Security Sents Relief to Ntontela Family

On Wednesday 11 June, 2025 Mangaung Metro’s member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Public Safety and Security Cllr. Sibongile Tsoleli together with the City’s Disaster Management visited the family of Dikeledi Ntontela, after the tragic fire broke out on Sunday 8 June in ward 11 Ipopeng, 2025 which claimed life of a 3 year old.

Pouring her tears Dikeledi said she was called around 7pm by neighbors last Sunday that part of the house has caught fire , as she quickly rushed to the scene the grandchild explained that her older son was the cause of the fire after he accidentally kicked the paraffin heater during a quarrel with son’s girlfriend.

“I am joined by MMC for Human Settlements Cllr. Ntombi Nhlapo and MMC for Economic Development Cllr. Theodorah Mosala to donate food, blankets and mattresses and as part of the City’s commitment we had to make sure that the necessity for Ntontela family were attended and we will still come back until the burnt house is restored to it’s former origin”, said MMC Tsoleli.

“I would like to thank Mangaung Metro, disaster management and MMC’s who paid us a visit and for donating all necessities that we needed urgently as the family, we do not have anyone working in the family and this relief will assist us a lot”, said Dikeledi.
