
Mangaung Metro’s Public Safety and Transport under the stewardship of MMC Cllr. Sibongile Tsoleli and HOD Kgamanyane seem to have brought law and order in the City of Mangaung.
The department is dedicated, committed and seem to have put the interests of law and order first for residents of Mangaung, the traffic officers are visible on the streets of Mangaung, which in particular bring confidence to other commuters.
Recently the department celebrated a year milestone of Hauweng Bus Service (Intergrated Public Transport Network -IPTN) since it’s official operations from July 2024 after years of delay which is an achievement for the department and Mangaung Municipality . The MMC, HOD and national officials from Department of transport applauded the department and its Section 80 Committee for making sure Hauweng was launched, which is now going to be expanded to the Township.
Additionally, the City’s Public Safety CCTV cameras are continuing to yield desired results to curb criminality in the city. This we do with the collaboration crime fighting strategies of security cluster led by SAPS and our law enforcement officers”, explained MMC Tsoleli.
“We urge residents of the City that law enforcement and order in the City is their right and it is the collective efforts of law enforcement and SAPS and other law enforcement agencies to keep Mangaung lawful”, said MMC Tsoleleli and HOD Kgamanyane.
The department highlighted that together with South African Police Services (SAPS), a lot of arrests were made relating to drug Trafficking, accidents caused by negligence, bank ATM crimes and theft around the City which were evidently captured by the CCTV provided by the Municipality and Public Safety.
