On Friday 23 August 2024, MMC for Human Settlements Cllr. Ntombi Nhlapo and Human Settlements section 80 committee convened for an oversight of the extension of water project in Ikgomotseng in Soutpan, with a briefing at the regional office.
The committee said it is important to come and observe some of the decisions they make during meetings and to have an informed progress that can be tabled before the Council.
“One of the achievements on the progress of Water and Sanitation is being able to connect 93 households with water with new reservoir that will store 1 Mega litre in the informal settlements of Soutpan and 3 internships for the graduates who will be working full time on site during the duration of the contract ”, said Olebogeng Mojaki.
The project has employed 23 local laborers from the community of Soutpan and were offered training before the project commenced as empowerment by the City.
